About Us

Global Facilities

By utilising direct high speed backbone links to major global points we have extended our local fiber network to an international distribution center. These are critical locations both in network terms and geographical terms around the world. These specific points are numerous enough to provide complete global coverage and place the content on the edge of the Internet near end-users (especially large concentrations of users), but not so diverse that we are unable to cost-effectively cache and serve video and other large files and downloads. We can offer you the best balance of global coverage and economic price.

By partnering with industry leader edgecast, our network is broadcast using their proprietary Global Load Balancing (GLB) technology. This allow us to use proprietary routing algorithms to route the users directly to the POP nearest to them, or the POP that will best serve them in terms of content speed and account for a number of factors when they build and update their algorithms. This includes the number of network hops to the end-user, the physical geographic location of the user, Internet congestion to the end-user, server and data center load and performance, and number of different networks that a user would travel through to access the content.

Access is based on our storage grid and caching servers. We are currently servicing per GB (2^30 Bytes), TB (2^40 Bytes), and coming soon PB (10^15 Bytes) customers. These files are replicated with CDP (Continuous Data Protection) to a second disaster recovery center. Our caching and distribution servers for this cluster can handle hundreds of thousands of simultaneous connections and beyond.
